Natural Bridge

As we were headed down the Blue Ridge Parkway, I saw a sign indicating the Natural Bridge was only 11 miles away, a detour most worthy of the distance.

The decision turned out to be blessed with trail magic as right after we passed the James River, for whatever reason, I stopped to pick up three hikers, laden with backpacks. If you consider I am traveling with three Dobermans and overflow stuff loaded in the back – we were snug. 😀

The hitchhikers were skinny but full of positive energy which was definitely a blessing as they were south-bound AT hikers.

I hope they understand the trail magic worked both ways. I smile every time I think about all of us loaded into the Subaru.

Side note: The James River is the workhorse for the Snowden Hydroelectric project.
