Restless didn't accurately describe the feeling. It felt more like being trapped. As I had navigated the highway of life, the desire to pull off onto a side road, and travel until I could stop to get out and "smell the roses" grew stronger and stronger. But for decades I stuck to the main roads with occasional side trips, usually at the behest of someone else, typically an organization which "depended" upon my skills and expertise in order to net a profit from which I, as an individual, benefitted little - except another line on my resume. But something happened as I watched this sunset from atop a boulder occupied by a handful of people at The Point Overlook in the Shenandoah National Forest.
